Ding Guokun, 76, a national-level intangible cultural heritage inheritor, has been making bodiless lacquerware since he was 16. Lacquerwares are objects decoratively covered with lacquer. After several steps of handicraft techniques, they are decorated with various colorful patterns and installed with ornaments. The surface of finished lacquerwares are smooth and lustrous. "Keep doing one thing and do it well. You will eventually earn people's recognition, " says Ding.
