Several sables were recently seen at the Grand Canyon of the Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve in Yanbian county, Northeast China's Jilin Province.
Some were digging snow holes and some were climbing trees to search food when captured by the camera.
"Sables have been listed as first-class protection animals in China and usually inhabit the broadleaf-conifer mixed forests in Northeast China's Changbai Mountain and Lesser Khingan Mountains," said Yu Dejiang, director of Weidong Wild Animal Protection Station in the reserve. "Due to wildlife protection efforts over past years, the number and species of wild animals like sables have increased remarkably."
