After graduating from a Japanese university studying Chinese, Nobuko went to Sichuan Agricultural University to study animal protection and got an internship opportunity at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in southwest China’s Sichuan.
After the internship, she returned to Japan and worked at the Ueno Zoo for six years, but finally she came back to Chengdu, because she wanted to do more to help with the reintroduction of giant pandas into the wild.
As a professional breeder, Nobuko’s daily work includes the routine of basic cleaning and feeding. The special formulated milk is carefully calculated and made based on the weight and health of each panda cub.
