Quan Hongchan, who is only 14 years old, claimed the gold medal with a total score of 466.20 points in the women's 10-meter platform diving. She received full marks in three out of five dives with her outstanding performance. Chen Yuxi of China took the silver medal with 425.40 points.
Quan is also the youngest among the Chinese Olympic delegation and this was her first international competition.
