The assembly of China's longest fin whale specimen was completed at the Shanghai Natural History Museum on Thursday. The prototype of the 24-meter-long specimen was the dead fin whale found at the junction of the Yangtze River Estuary and Hangzhou Bay in Shanghai on March 2, 2017. It has been stored in the specimen warehouse of the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum since 2017 and was eventually made into a specimen by the museum's taxidermy team.
