Dawenkou Site, located in Tai'an City, Shandong Province, is the origin of Dawenkou Culture and a late Neolithic settlement along the lower reaches of the Yellow River. Remains of tombs, walls and pottery kilns have been found at the site after three excavations. Dawenkou Culture existed from 4,300 to 2,600 BC. Besides Shandong Province, it also appeared in provinces including Anhui, Henan and Jiangsu.
