A total lunar eclipse occurred on Tuesday, with the moon turning blood red as it slips into Earth’s shadow. A lunar eclipse happens when the moon travels through Earth's shadow. The Earth blocks the sunlight from reaching the Moon, and instead light is bent through the Earth’s atmosphere, casting a reddish hue over the Moon. It is the last total lunar eclipse until 2025.
