Surrounded by mountains, Xiazhuang village sits in the bottom of valley at an altitude of 1,600 meters in Wushan county of Chongqing. The "sinkhole village" had long struggled against poverty until one day villagers decided to carve out a mountain road on their own. After 7 years, a 8-kilometer cliff road was carved out by villagers to the outside world in 2004.
