China's fifth research station in Antarctic started operation on Wednesday. The station, with an area of 5,244 square meters, is China's third year-round station after the Zhongshan Station and Great Wall Station. It is also the first station facing the Pacific Ocean. It can accommodate 80 people in the summer and 30 in the winter.
