Among the many historical treasures on display at the Xinjiang Museum, a one-of-a-kind 1,400-year-old cake is small yet riveting. The preserved cake, with its Baoxiang flower pattern still clearly visible, was discovered in the Astana Tombs cluster in 1972. Researchers speculate that the mooncake might have contained ingredients such as grapes, dates, sugar, and sesame seeds.
