Han Konglin pointed out that the phenomenon has exposed weaknesses in social morality education concerning both families and schools. "That guardians lack communication with their children, spoil them or rough them up has led to the failure of family education, which has pushed kids onto the wrong path.

Taiwan also promulgated a regulation in 1995 aiming to tackle social problems related to prostitution. However, currently in the Chinese mainland the term "compensated dating" is not even among related laws, reported the China Newsweek.
