stay true to mission
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, on July 1, 2016 called on his comrades to "stay true to the mission" taken up by the CPC 95 years ago.
7月1日上午10时,庆祝中国共产党成立95周年大会在人民大会堂举行.中共中央总书记、国家主席、央军委主席习近平发表重要讲话.习近平强调,面向未来,面对挑战,全党同志一定要不忘初心、继续前进.
In the speech, Xi called on CPC members to "uphold the fighting spirit" of the Party's founding members and their commitment to the people.
"不忘初心",就要永远保持建党时中国共产党人的奋斗精神,永远保持对人民的赤子之心.
"One who wants to stride ahead should not forget the path that was trodden. No matter how far we will travel and how bright a future we will have, we should not forget what we have experienced and why we set out," said Xi, at an event marking the 95th founding anniversary of the CPC in Beijing.
用习总书记的话说,就是"一切向前走,都不能忘记走过的路；走得再远、走到再光辉的未来,也不能忘记走过的过去,不能忘记为什么出发."
