7th China import expo attracts record Fortune 500, industry leading participants
(ECNS) -- The 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE), to be held in Shanghai this November, has attracted a record number of 297 Fortune Global 500 enterprises and industry leading companies this year, according to the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday.
Covering 420,000 square meters, the expo will host participants from 152 countries, regions, and international organizations. A total of 3,496 enterprises from 129 countries and regions with an exhibition area of more than 360,000 square meters will participate this year's expo, surpassing previous records in both the number of participating countries and businesses, said Tang Wenhong, assistant minister of commerce during a press conference.
A number of exhibits representing the development of new quality productive forces will be launched for the first time, featuring high-end equipment, new materials, marine engineering equipment, biotechnology, advanced agricultural technology and many other cutting-edge fields of science and technology.
Exhibits in the China Pavilion will focus on the future network, artificial intelligence, new energy and other cutting-edge scientific and technological fields.
The premier products, technologies, and services released during the first six expos reached 2,500 with a cumulative transaction value exceeding 420 billion U.S. dollars.
