(ECNS) -- A shipment of 20,000 metric tons of Chilean cherries arrived at Nansha Port in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong Province on Saturday, further enriching the upcoming Spring Festival "fruit platter," according to Guangzhou Customs.

This is the largest single shipment of Chilean cherries imported to China since the start of the 2024-2025 new cherry harvest season.

Chilean cherries are highly favored by Chinese on- and -offline consumers for sweetness and nutrition. Thanks to China's soaring market demand for fruit in the festive season, this shipment offers customers a greater choice.

Growing purchasing power among Chinese consumers has fueled the surge in cherry sales, demonstrating the recognition in the Chinese market for premium imported agricultural products.

In the future, more high-quality Chilean agricultural products are expected to enter the Chinese market.
