COVID testing and health code no longer required for people arriving in Beijing
(ECNS) -- Beijing will no longer require people who return to this city to show their negative nucleic acid testing results and health codes, said local health authorities at a press conference on Wednesday.
The city released “10 new measures” for COVID-19 prevention and control at the press conference.
People arriving in Beijing need not undergo three times of nucleic acid testing in three days.
Restrictions on buying over-the-counter medicine such as antipyretic, antitussive, anti-infection, and cold treatment medicine online and offline have been removed, and real-name registration, pop-up notification of Beijing Health Code, or follow-up tracking will no longer be made for drug buyers.
Beijing will continue to provide and improve the nucleic acid test service for the public, with testing point distribution optimized and testing free of charge, said Xu Hejian, spokesperson for the municipal government and director of its information office.
Meanwhile, some indoor places such as internet cafes, bars, karaoke rooms and certain institutions such as nursing homes, welfare homes, kindergartens and schools will still require the visitors to show negative nucleic acid testing results sampled within 48 hours before entering.
Schools without COVID-19 should normally carry out offline teaching and risk areas will be accurately designated to ensure normal teaching outside these areas.
