Typhoon Haikui to land in southeastern coast of Taiwan island

(ECNS) -- Typhoon Haikui, the 11th typhoon this year, is expected to land on the southeastern coast of Taiwan island Sunday evening, according to a red alert issued by China Meteorological Administration on Sunday morning.

Haikui was moving westward at a speed of more than 15 to 20 kilometers per hour this morning. 

It closely followed Super typhoon Sola, the ninth typhoon of this year, which has brought strong winds and heavy rain to South China's Guangdong Province, damaging about 573 hectares of crops and forcing evacuation of 925,000 residents.

Affected by Sola and Haikui, central and southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Southwest of Guangdong Province and Taiwan Island would experience heavy rain from Sunday to Monday morning.
