(ECNS) -- The "Decoding Zhonghua" International Conference on Northeast Asian Studies was held in Dalian, Northeast China’s Liaoning Province on Saturday.

Experts at the conference elaborated on the distinctive characteristics of Chinese civilization and the development path of the community for the Chinese nation. They also discussed the current state of Northeast Asian regional cooperation and future pathways for collaboration.

Professor Lv Chao from Liaoning University maintained that facing global changes, all countries should adopt a pragmatic approach to cooperation based on mutual benefit, eliminate external interference, and strengthen cooperation in various fields such as cultural and economic exchanges.

Professor Zhang Jingquan from Shandong University said that innovative approaches should be taken to promote maritime regional cooperation in Northeast Asia. He proposes several pathways for this, including creating a Northeast Asian Super Bay Area to advance land-sea integrated regional cooperation, using new productive forces to drive a digital and intelligent ocean for regional cooperation, and promoting high-quality development through deep-sea governance.

Professor Jin Jun from the University of East Asia in Japan proposed that the Chinese understanding of peace has always been founded on an order based on morality, justice, and harmony.

Themed "Future-oriented Regional Cooperation in Northeast Asia," the conference featured two sub-forums.

At the sub-forum on “High-quality development, cultural exchanges and cooperation in Northeast Asia," experts explored the current state of cultural exchanges, economic interactions, and cooperation mechanisms among Northeast Asian countries.

They proposed that countries need to enhance multilateral exchanges, improve cooperation mechanisms, achieve mutual learning about civilizations through cooperation, consolidate value consensus, and promote a community with a shared future for mankind.

At the sub-forum on "Exchanges and interaction among ethnic groups in Northeast China and their integration into the Chinese nation," experts focused on the historical evidence of exchanges, and integration among various ethnic groups in Northeast China.

They traced the historical origins of the concept of "the Chinese nation as one family" and concluded that the mutual respect and cultural recognition among the ethnic groups in Northeast China throughout history have collectively developed Chinese culture.

The conference was hosted by China Ethnic News and Dalian Minzu University, and co-sponsored by the Center for Asia and Pacific China International Communications Group.
