(ECNS) -- China has decided to extend visa-free policy for citizens from Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, and Slovenia, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced on Monday during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, from October 15 to December 31, 2024, passport holders from the four countries are able to enter China without a visa for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends, and transit, for up to 15 days.

The visa-free policy aims to further promote personnel exchanges between China and other countries, said Lin at a press conference held on Monday.
