China expels Japanese fishing boat from waters around Diaoyu Islands

(ECNS) -- China expelled a Japanese fishing boat that illegally entered the territorial waters of the Diaoyu Islands, China Coast Guard (CCG) spokesman Liu Dejun said on Thursday.

The boat trespassed into the territorial waters around the islands from Tuesday to Wednesday and CCG ships lawfully carried out necessary measures and drove them off after warning, Liu noted.

The Diaoyu Islands and their affiliated islands are China's inherent territory, and CCG vessels conduct maritime rights protection patrols and law enforcement activities within their jurisdictional waters, he said.
