New air route to link China’s Xizang with Singapore
(ECNS) -- The Lhasa Gonggar International Airport will launch the first flight to Singapore starting from Dec. 20, marking a milestone to enhance its international presence.
The new route will not only strengthen exchanges and cooperation between Xizang Autonomous Region and Southeast Asia but also pave the way for broader international connectivity.
It will provide more travel options for local residents while driving local economic growth and boosting the region's tourism industry.
Located in Gonggar County of Shannan City and close to the regional capital of Lhasa, the airport started operation in November 1966. It is the largest one of its kind in Xizang.
Apart from the new route to Singapore, it is also stepping up efforts to open regional routes to Hong Kong.
