(ECNS) -- The Chinese edition of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare was released recently by Democracy and Construction Publishing House. The book launch and sharing event took place in Beijing on Saturday.

Li Yao, one of the translators of Spare, stated that the book offers a true account of the British royal family’s inner workings and a touching story of Harry’s growth, adding that Harry’s life is multifaceted, and he is not only a member of the British royal family but also a flesh-and-blood individual who dares to love and hate.

Xie Aiyou, head of Democracy and Construction Publishing House, said that Spare reflects the challenges and breakthroughs everyone faces, noting that everyone has his hard times in life, whether it’s work pressure or emotional struggles, and this book teaches us to face those dark times and move toward the light.

After the speech, the unveiling ceremony of Spare took place, marking the official introduction of this global bestseller to Chinese readers.

One of the book’s translators, famous host Chen Luyu, and other guests discussed topics like Prince Harry's personal growth, psychological healing, family conflicts, and identity issues.

Chen shared her translation, and said that Harry’s experiences tie the book’s emotional thread together. She worked to stay true to the original text, capturing its emotions, while also considering cultural differences between East and West to help readers connect with the story.
