TCM training program boosts Hangzhou global expansion
(ECNS) -- To promote the international development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), a training program for overseas TCM professionals was launched on Sunday at Hangzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (HZTCM), in east China’s Zhejiang Province.
The training program was hosted by the Hangzhou Municipal Health Commission, focusing on the complex diagnosis and treatment of diseases using TCM. It aims to enhance the clinical skills and international capacity of professional practitioners.
Chen Junfeng, deputy secretary-general of the China Association of Chinese Medicine, said that TCM practitioners should integrate various methods and prioritize non-pharmaceutical therapies, while combining the essence of TCM theory with practical techniques to enhance treatment outcomes.
A representative from the Hangzhou Municipal Health Commission said that local TCM is going global, evidenced by He’s Gynecology Italian Workstation and Hangzhou Red Cross Hospital’s overseas TCM Studio in Mauritius.
According to the representative, Hangzhou Red Cross Hospital has also engaged in deep collaborations with institutions such as Acupuncture and Tuina Institute in York, the UK, and the Sino-German TCM research institute.
In recent years, Hangzhou has also developed a comprehensive digital ecosystem for TCM to ensure the talent cultivation policies are well-supported. The city’s TCM industry has been recognized as a national experimental zone for TCM inheritance and innovation. Hangzhou ranks first in Zhejiang Province for its TCM development index.
