Ancient Chinese physician Bian Que's book to be published this year
(ECNS) -- The content of ancient Chinese physician Bian Que and Cang Gong's book, Tianhui Medical Bamboo Slips, will be published this year, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine announced Wednesday.
The 106 lost medical prescriptions will be published after nearly 10 years of research.
Bian Que was a legendary doctor who lived over 2,000 years ago and is considered the father of the pulse-taking technique in Chinese medicine. Tianhui Medical Bamboo Slips were unearthed from the No. 3 Han Dynasty Tomb at Tianhui Town, Chengdu in 2012.
Researchers compiled more than 960 bamboo slips and interpreted more than 25,000 characters.
In addition to 106 medical prescriptions, Tianhui Medical Slips also records lost Chinese medicine treatment methods for equine disease, which will have an important impact on Chinese medicinal research.
