A delegation of Taiwan's General Chamber of Commerce visits the mainland
A delegation of Taiwan's General Chamber of Commerce, which is now visiting Beijing, called on the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission and the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday, hoping to lead and help Taiwan-based companies to expand their business in the mainland better.
Since the end of last year, major business groups in Taiwan have expressed their desire to visit the mainland. The delegation of Taiwan's General Chamber of Commerce led by Chairman Xu Shubo became the first one to the mainland.
Xu introduced that Taiwan's General Chamber of Commerce is based on the service industry. Its members include 152 chambers of commerce, covering more than 100 industries, accounting for 63% of the total employment population in Taiwan and 62% of the total GDP. The general chamber represents small and medium-sized enterprises in Taiwan and the people's livelihood in Taiwan.
