First fully automated metro line in NW China put into operation

The first fully automated metro line in northwest China, was put into operation in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province on Tuesday. 　

The fully automated operation system has been applied to　the first phase of Xi'an Metro Line 16　to automate the whole process of the train operation through the systematic linkage of signals, vehicles, communication, comprehensive monitoring, platform doors and technical equipment in the field. 　

The system is also　equipped with running gear, online derailment monitoring,　obstacle detection and other functions　to effectively improve driving safety.
