Sweat That Nourishes the Earth

"Sweat That Nourishes the Earth" tells the story of organic rice production at COPERAV.

A cooperative of family farmers who conquered their farms through the fight for land, Agrarian Reform and the rights of rural workers with the MST (LandlessRural Workers Movement).

After years of struggle, these families manage the entire rice chain, from planting to selling. Their organic rice feeds thousands of people all over Brazil. It became one of the biggest producers in Latin America.

For COOPERAV's people, rice is more than grain. Rice is earth, is water, Agrarian Reform, is Cooperativism. Rice is life.
