Insights | Tanzanian student hopes to foster Sino-African cultural exchange
(ECNS) -- 2024 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Tanzania. Recently, Tewele Ayubu Damiani, a Tanzanian student at east China’s Zhejiang Normal University, recalled the beginning of his story with China in an interview with China News Network. He said that he bought a pen at a TAZARA railway station during his childhood, with Chinese characters reading "Shang Hai" printed on it. He found the characters fascinating, which sparked his interest in learning Chinese in China.
As a dedicated supporter of bilateral friendship between China and Tanzania, he said China has strengthened its cooperation with Tanzania over the years, forming a brotherly friendship. He is now producing a TV program called “China-Africa Hand in Hand” to promote cultural exchange between the two regions.
