(W.E. Talk) Erik Solheim: The green rise of the Global South needs a double approach

The 2024 UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) is being held in Baku, Azerbaijan from Nov. 11 to Nov. 22. During the period, former UN Environment Executive Director and Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Erik Solheim noted that green finance is important, but government regulations are more important, and that's why China goes as a world leader.

In addition, Solheim noted that the Global South should follow a double approach to address climate change: using all existing institutions such as United Nations climate talks, and participating in new institutions like BRICS, the Belt and Road Initiative, etc. (Chen Tianhao)
