Great things can be achieved as long as China and U.S. cooperate: Wang Yi
Many developments between China and the U.S. have been widely welcomed by all walks of life in the two countries and the international community, fully proving that as long as China and the United States cooperate, many great things can be achieved, Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Tuesday.
Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the pledge when addressing a symposium on the international situation and China's foreign relations in 2024.
Wang also said that China must give a firm and forceful response to the brutal interference from the U.S. in China's internal affairs such as the Taiwan issue, resolutely safeguard its own legitimate rights and interests, and safeguard the basic norms governing international relations.
"We are willing to maintain dialogue with the U.S., manage differences, increase trust and dispel doubts, expand cooperation, and jointly explore the right way for the two great powers to get along on this planet, benefiting both countries and the world," said Wang.
