The Double Third Festival, which falls on the third day of the third lunar month, is also known as the Shangsi Festival.
For the Zhuang people, the Double Third Festival has always been filled with song.
Stories of the Zhuang's Goddess of Singing have been passed down through generations. Young people use romantic poems from the ancient Book of Songs to express love. They express affection by throwing embroidered balls, hitting painted eggs, and singing folk songs for couples.
Apart from Zhuang people, other ethnic groups in China, such as the Yao, Dong, and Mulao, also celebrate this festival.
