Physically disabled Chinese climber reaches 5,000m peak

Wang Hui, a 29-year-old mountaineering enthusiast and a veteran from north China's Hebei Province, has successfully reached the peak of Mountain Otana, at an elevation of over 5,000 meters, in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
In November 2024, he was popular among netizens for climbing to the top of the Mount. Otana with crutches. After a right leg amputation in 2021, he gradually found his passion in climbing. Since 2023, he has climbed over 30 mountains.
Wang planned to post his videos online, encouraging more people to challenge themselves.
"Mt. Qomolangma is every climber's dream," Wang said. He hopes to conquer Mt. Qomolangma in the future.
