A total of 31 athletes of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) will participate in the London 2012 Olympic Games for 12 events.

The Chinese sports delegation to compete in the London 2012 Olympic Games was officially formed on July 10, 2012. Some athletes to participate in such events as track and field and swimming have successively arrived in London recently. After the preliminary verification by the reporters, among the 396 Chinese athletes, there are a total of 31 PLA athletes, including 12 male athletes and 19 female athletes, who will take part in 12 events, i.e. track and field, weightlifting, table tennis, volleyball, basketball, swimming, badminton, judo, rowing, shooting, fencing and triathlon.

The PLA athletes have always been an important force of the Chinese Olympic delegation. Their ratio in the Chinese delegation in this Olympic Games basically equals that in previous ones.

According to a briefing, the PLA athletes are making the final preparations at full stretch for the Olympic Games along with the national team, and some athletes have already arrived at the venues for pregame warm-up.
