New military vehicles of PLA to be commissioned

A "medium-size high-mobility universal tactical vehicle" of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) recently completed the full-load and long-distance maneuvering trial run under low pressure and anoxic conditions on plateau.

As a main model among the third-generation military vehicles of the PLA, this type of military vehicle has passed the approval test and will soon be commissioned to the troops of the three services of the PLA.

The new-generation military vehicles have employed unified general chassis, and may meet various operational demands through refit and payload.

They may be refitted into transport platforms such as oil supply trucks and ammunition trucks, or be equipped with artillery and missiles and turned into mobile firepower platforms. They may also be equipped with information equipment and turned into information equipment platforms such as command vehicles, reconnaissance cars and electronic warfare vehicles.

It is learnt that such military vehicles have 100% proprietary intellectual property rights, and all their key parts, such as engine and transmission, have realized independent design and production.

The vehicles can ensure strong power at the high altitude localities above 5,000 meters, fit into the environment ranging from minus 41 degrees Celsius to 46 degrees Celsius, and are equipped with automatic transmissions, anti-explosion tanks, body protection components, etc, according to sources.
