At the invitation of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Gen. Chang Wanquan, state councilor and minister of national defense of China, left Beijing for Russia on Wednesday to attend the fourth Moscow Conference on International Security (MCIS).
Wang Jian, deputy political commissar of the Beijing Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) accompanied Chang on the visit.
It is learnt that the fourth Moscow Conference on International Security, a forum annually organized by the Russian Defense Ministry for discussion of essential international security matters, will take place on April 16-17, 2015. Representatives of about 80 foreign defense ministries have been invited to the forum.
