The Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) held a report meeting on its construction and development achievements on April 21 and 22 to commemorate the 66th anniversary of the founding of the PLA Navy.
During the meeting, four leaders of the PLA Navy respectively delivered thematic reports, fully showcasing the splendid achievements made by the PLA Navy. Wu Shengli, member of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) and commander of the PLA Navy, attended the meeting.
The day April 23, 2015 is the 66th anniversary of the founding of the PLA Navy. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the past 66 years, the PLA Navy has developed into a strategic, comprehensive and international military force.
Especially after entering the new century, the PLA Navy has been vigorously pushing forward the strategic transformation and playing an increasingly important strategic support role in the processes of defending China's national sovereignty and dignity, and safeguarding its maritime security and marine rights and interests.
Miao Hua, political commissar of the PLA Navy, attended the meeting. Tian Zhong, Du Jingchen and Liu Yi, deputy commanders of the PLA Navy, and Ding Haichun, deputy political commissar of the PLA Navy, briefed the Navy's achievements in pushing forward its strategic transformation in the meeting.
