China will offer more chances to pursue graduate studies to college students or graduates who have retired from military services, according to the Ministry of Education (MOE) on Wednesday.
Each year, up to 5,000 veterans who study in college will be admitted to graduate schools under a tailored program, according to a new MOE directive to attract college students into military service.
For example, graduate school candidates with outstanding service records may be exempted from written exams.
Other favorable policies include allowing them to change majors when they resume their studies.
Universities must include military service application policies in admission letters mailed to new students.
