The PLA Air Force will recruit pilot cadets in the Tibet autonomous region in 2017, in a bid to realize full region coverage in the Chinese mainland in its recruitment of pilot cadets.
It's the first time the Air Force has targeted Tibet for selection of pilot cadets, seen as a move to strengthen cultivation of pilots of ethnic minorities.
The Air Force kicked off this year's pilot cadet entrance examination and publicity campaign in Zhengzhou, capital city of central China's Henan province on Tuesday, which will cover 25 cities in Henan, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou, and Sichuan provinces and the Chongqing municipality.
The entrance exam will be carried out in 67 senior high schools. Those high school seniors with good academic grades, excellent physical and psychological performances will be qualified to sit for the entrance exam.
