Singapore will set up a robotic laboratory to design and invent robots fighting alongside with soldiers, Singapore's Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) said Friday during the Budget debate in Parliament.
The laboratory which will be set up in the DSO National Laboratories, the national defense research agency of Singapore, will be a "one-stop facility" that allows engineers to work on prototyping, integration, simulation and testing of systems prior to field trials for the Singapore Armed Forces, according to MINDEF.
Another Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory will also be formed under the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) to develop counter-terrorism operations through data analytics, according to local media.
