Cooperation between China and the World Economic Forum (WEF) has provided a platform for exchanges between Chinese and foreign business communities, and also opened a window for the world to better understand China, said Chinese Premier Li Keqiang during his meeting with Klaus Schwab, the executive chairman of the WEF, on Wednesday in Tianjin during the ongoing Summer Davos 2018.
Li said China is willing to work with the WEF and forum participants to discuss the problems facing the world economy, push for the continuous improvement of the global governance system and boost joint development and common prosperity.
The Chinese premier pointed out that, when faced with the opportunities and challenges brought about by the new round of industrial revolution and technological innovation, all parties need to join hands and push forward the new industrial revolution so that it can advance the sustainable and inclusive growth of the global economy. All parties need to work together to defend multilateralism and free trade to create a favorable environment for global economic recovery and steady growth, Li added.
For his part, Schwab said the WEF expects to take the cooperation with China one step up, uphold globalization and multilateralism, and carry forward the rule-based global governance structure.
