China firmly objects to U.S. arms sales to Taiwan under any pretext, a spokesperson said Wednesday at a press conference.
China resolutely opposes any form of official or military contact between Taiwan and the U.S., said An Fengshan, spokesperson with the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office.
An's comment came after the U.S. government informed Congress of its decision to sell weapons worth about 330 million U.S. dollars to Taiwan on Tuesday.
"Those who rely on foreigners to build themselves up and undermine the peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait will certainly pay a price for their deeds," he said.
