The 2018 Hong Kong-Sanya International Sailing Competition will be held in Sanya from October 18-25, according to the Sanya Municipal Government's Bureau of Culture, Broadcast and TV, Publication, and Sports.
This year's eight-day regatta will start in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor and finish at the Sanya Serenity Marina, with a total length of about 355 nautical miles being covered.
Founded in 2008, the Hong Kong-Sanya International Sailing Competition is a key part of the plan to place Sanya on the world map for sailing, and to develop yacht-related businesses in the region. The regatta is now widely considered to be one of China's major international sailing events.
The competition is organized by the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC) in cooperation with the Sanya Municipal Government.
