Chinese forward Wu Lei of Shanghai SIPG scored twice to reach the top of Golden Boot standings with 23 goals, helping SIPG lead Chinese Super League (CSL) after the 25th round match on Sunday.
As league leaders, SIPG faced little trouble in a 5-0 victory over 16th-ranked Guizhou Hengfeng. Wang Canchao opened the scoring for SIPG with a header in the first half. Wu scored twice in the second half, with Elkeson de Oliveira Cardoso and Hulk scoring one goal respectively.
Wu has collected 23 goals in hand so far, three more than the second placed striker in the Golden Boot standings. Wu would be a strong contender for the Golden Boot award with only five rounds to go.
In another game of the day, Beijing Guoan beat Guangzhou R&F 3-0, snapping a three-game losing streak.
