Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump discussed the death of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi by phone late Sunday night.

During the phone call, they agreed that all aspects of the case should be brought to light, Turkey's presidential press office said in a statement.

Erdogan said earlier Sunday he will make a statement and address the issues "in detail" on the Khashoggi case on Tuesday during his party's group meeting at the parliament.

Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist, has been missing since he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on Oct. 2.

The kingdom claimed early Saturday that Khashoggi had died in a "brawl" in its consulate, but did not explain the cause of his death.

The two leaders also discussed bilateral relations and release of pastor Andrew Brunson, stressing the importance of the Manbij road map and maintaining peace in Idlib, according to the statement.
