With Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe currently in Beijing for an official visit, strengthening economic and trade bonds are expected to be a part of the high-level talks.

Following six years of territorial disputes and lukewarm relations, the world's second and third largest economies are re-kindling their alliance.

Both the Chinese and Japanese governments have shown a strong willingness to cooperate in third-party markets, Gao Feng, spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce said at a media briefing on Wednesday.

"China and Japan complement each other well economically. Cooperation between the two in the third-party market has become a new growth point for development of Sino-Japanese economic and trade relations under the new situation," Gao said.

Gao also said that China has advantages in equipment manufacturing and human resources. Japanese companies are strong in technology, marketing networks, engineering management, and so on.

"China is willing to work with Japan to give full play to its advantages in the market. China will fully respect the wishes of the countries where its projects are located," said Gao.
