The first China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai reaffirms China's endeavor to set a practical framework for a more open world economy and market, a Sudanese expert said Tuesday.
"Once again China proves its honesty by showing its willingness to establish an economic partnership with all countries of the world. This expo is an affirmation of China's support for building an open market," Dr. Abdul-Khaliq Saeed, a professor of international studies at Sudan's Center for Strategic Studies, told Xinhua.
As this year marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up, organizing this expo practically proves that the policy still maintains the necessary momentum, he said.
Noting the rising challenges of protectionism and unilateralism facing the global economy now, Saeed said "China's leadership deserves to be praised by all peoples of the world as China is advancing an open market and economy based on the principles of sharing and win-win cooperation."
Saeed regarded the CIIE as an opportunity for the Sudanese companies to ly watch and understand their Chinese counterparts.
"The expo provides new opportunities for enhancing the trade cooperation between Sudan and China and increasing the Sudanese exports to China, namely the agricultural ones," he noted.
Scheduled to run until Saturday, the CIIE is the world's first import-themed national-level expo. A total of 172 countries, regions and international organizations are currently attending the CIIE.
