China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) said on Tuesday it has enhanced natural gas production to ensure a sufficient winter heating supply.
The country's largest offshore oil producer plans to provide 24.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas to ensure heating supply this winter and next spring, up 20 percent year on year.
An unnamed official with the CNOOC called for enhanced cooperation between upstream and downstream natural gas suppliers, saying that through infrastructure connectivity, sources of natural gas should be strengthened.
The natural gas supply by CNOOC for this winter and next spring comprises natural gas explored from the ocean, coal bed gas and imported liquefied natural gas.
To cope with the upcoming gas consumption peak, the company has rolled out a contingency plan to ensure ample supply.
