Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited the testing ground of the Academy of Defence Science and supervised the test of a newly developed ultramodern tactical weapon, the official KCNA news agency reported Friday.
The report didn't specify the exact date of the visit. It said that after seeing the power of the tactical weapon, Kim excitedly called it another great work done by defense scientists and munitions industrial workers to increase the country's defense capability.
Kim highly praised those involved "for successfully conducting the test of an ultramodern tactical weapon."
He also said the great success again demonstrated the validity of the Labor Party policy of "prioritizing defense science and technology and the rapidly developing defense capability of the country" and marked a "decisive turn in bolstering the fighting capacity" of the Korean People's Army, according to the KCNA report.
