China's energy consumed per 10,000 yuan of its gross domestic product (GDP) fell 3.1 percent year on year in 2018, indicating higher energy efficiency, official data showed Monday.
The decline was in line with the government target of at least 3-percent reduction for the year, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said in a statement.
Energy consumption structure continued to improve, with the consumption of clean energy including natural gas and hydropower accounting for 1.3 percentage points more of the total energy consumption, compared with the previous year, the NBS said.
