Four Chinese enterprises were awarded by Energy Foundation China, a global non-governmental organization, for their distinguish achievement in cutting carbon emission.
Zou Ji, president of Energy Foundation China, an organization dedicated to sustainable energy development, said the organization hopes to set industrial models in stopping climate changes and raise awareness toward green development.
"We also want to promote sustainable development considering both the environment and economy, and reach consensus toward climate changes," he said.
He added that the organization's vision included pushing communication between the government and companies and promoting business environment for companies to achieve low carbon emission and high-quality development."
Gree Electric Appliances, Mengniu Dairy Co, Beijing Capital International Airport Co Ltd and Xinjiang Goldwind Sci&Tech Co Ltd were selected as the outstanding companies that hves contributed to cutting carbon emission and promoting new energy usage.
From 2015 to 2017, Gree has cut its carbon-dioxide emission by 6.5 million metric tons, and Mengniu has reduced its carbon-dioxide emission by 30,000 tons by reducing the usage of coal.
Beijing Capital International Airport has managed to lower its carbon emission by 3.99 percent in 2017 year-on-year.
Goldwind was elected for its effort in promoting the use of clean energy.
