Kim Jong Un, the top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), met on Thursday the members of the country's friendship art delegation, who came back home after their successful performances in China, official media reported Friday.
Kim met the delegation at the office building of the Party Central Committee, and highly appreciated its wonderful and enthusiastic performances reflecting the true intention and sincerity of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) of the DPRK and the Korean people for the Chinese party and people, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
Kim expressed his satisfaction with the artists' full display of their high artistic skills and talents and smooth performances in China, and thanked them for making active contributions to further consolidating and enhancing cultural bonds between the peoples of the DPRK and China, said KCNA.
The KCNA said the DPRK friendship art delegation returned to Pyongyang on Thursday afternoon.
Led by Ri Su Yong, member of the Political Bureau and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, the delegation arrived in Beijing on Jan. 24 and staged performances at the State Grand Theatre in Beijing on Jan. 26-28.
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese president, and his wife Peng Liyuan met with Ri and watched a performance by the artists of the delegation on Jan. 27.
The DPRK friendship art delegation visited China at the invitation of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee.
